SwaRaaGa is a musical initiative to encourage young musicians to find a platform to perform.  The first ever edition of the event we dedicated it to the legendary poet Kuvempu.  With the highly talented team headed by Ranjitha the evening is set to entertain the audiences.  Versatile Santosh Karki did all of us proud with is fantastic narration of the entire evening.  We are having songs ranging from Teredide Mane Poo Baa Athithi from Hosabelaku to Sathyaavataara and Doni Saagali Munde Hogali from Ms. Leelavathi to Aaanandamaya covering the huge range of music composed on the ever green poems of Kuppalli Venkatappa Puttappa.

Prakasam is all geared up to melodize your evenings on first Sunday of every month. Each month we plan to commemorate one of our poets or musicians and dedicate our evening to them and most importantly to celebrate a religion called music. The music will range from Light Music to Folk Music to Movie Music. It’s a musical journey to enrich your evening and to take you to world designed with balanced and carefully chosen tracks.

The play order for the evening was

5. Paarumandemmanee Englishininda, music by Dr. B Jayashree, Rohini, Sumathi, performed by Rohini and Aparna
6. Muchhumareillade, music by Raju Anathaswamy, performed by Malavika
7. Sathyavatara, music by C Ashwath, pefromed by Sujay 
8. Beladingalu, music by Ranjitha, performed by Ranjitha and Alok
9. Naadageethe, music by C Ashwath, performed by Alok, Ranjitha, Apoorva, Malavika, Ranjitha, Rohini, Aparna, Sujay

In percussion support, Akshay on Tabla, Arpith on Rhythm Pad, Kavana Hegde on Keyboard.

As the name suggests the in-house musical talents of Prakasam are all set to make the first episode of this musical voyage a memorable one. On June 1, while the cuckoos sing along on the lovely open foyer of KH Kala Soudha, surrounded by Ramanjaneya Gudda Park, our singers will outmatch the melody by their soulful singing. Soulful music needs soul filled lyrics and we turned to our most beloved, acclaimed and greatest writer Kuvempu.

• The evening will be lit up by the soul filled lyrics of our Rashtrakavi Kuvempu 
• Performed by our musical prodigies Rohini Raghunandan, Ranjitha, Malavika, Apoorva and Alok. Accompanied by Akshay Bonsle on Tabala, Arpith Bonsle on Rhythm pads and Kavana Hegde on Keyboard.
• We have peppered the program with some interesting facts and trivia about the great writer presented by Santosh Karki. 
• This is Prakasam’s effort to create musical waves around our temple of arts KH Kala Soudha
• We intend to continue this voyage covering all aspects and genres of music with singers from varied backgrounds. Kindly see our website for upcoming events.

Director’s Note: P D Satish Chandra:
We always had an inclination to create a meaningful musical production. We did create musicals and staged play’s but the urge to do a pure musical event was ever present. After the success of GSS tribute event during Kala Soudha festival we planned for SwaRaaGa a musical evening and opened it out to audiences. This is our first open mike event where all are welcome to sing and relish their musical buds. With our long standing promise of encouraging youngsters except for Rohini all other team members are young and for some of them this is the first professional exposure to love singing.
