SwaRaaGa is a musical initiative to encourage young musicians to find a platform to perform. The first ever edition of the event we dedicated it to the legendary poet Kuvempu. We wanted to follow that up with another legend of Kannada Language. We celebrate melodies sung by Dr. Rajkumar on July 6, 2014 at 6 pm in Kala Soudha foyer. With the highly talented team headed by Ranjitha the evening is set to entertain the audiences. There would be melodies ranging from Thai thai thai thai bangari to Naadamaya and My name is Raj to Sadaa Kannali.

Prakasam is all geared up to melodize your evenings on first Sunday of every month. Each month we plan to commemorate one of our poets or musicians and dedicate our evening to them and most importantly to celebrate a religion called music. The music will range from Light Music to Folk Music to Movie Music. It’s a musical journey to enrich your evening and to take you to world designed with balanced and carefully chosen tracks.

As the name suggests the in-house musical talents of Prakasam are all set to make the first episode of this musical voyage a memorable one. This is Prakasam’s effort to create musical waves around our temple of arts KH Kala Soudha. We intend to continue this voyage covering all aspects and genres of music with singers from varied backgrounds. Kindly see our website for upcoming events. We always had an inclination to create a meaningful musical production. We did create musicals and staged play’s but the urge to do a pure musical event was ever present. After the success of GSS tribute event during Kala Soudha festival we planned for SwaRaaGa a musical evening and opened it out to audiences. This is our first open mike event where all are welcome to sing and relish their musical buds. With our long standing promise of encouraging youngsters except for Rohini all other team members are young and for some of them this is the first professional exposure to love singing.

Pradarshana Kalaa Samsthe (Prakasam) is an NGO working towards nurturing and cultivating culture under the entitlement of Kala Krushi. The organization has assisted young performing artists to showcase their talents and has created unique performing art productions. Katha Sangama "Bouquet of Stories" There has been a trend of short plays in the modern time of timelessness. We are so used to instant food, job, friendship, money we are also bombarded with requests for short plays. We now have successfully prepared the “Bouquet of Stories” exclusively for you. Marking the 100th birth anniversary of Kodagina Gowramma , the gallant feminist writer at her times (1912-1939) we are staging her short story too as part of this festival. The play is in Kannada and the exquisite selection of the stories will make you want more. With eight Jnanapeth Awards and stalwarts to choose from we had to read more than 120 short stories written between early 1930’s to 2011 to arrive at this unique bouquet.
