Prakasam Presents: ಯುವರಂಗ - YOUTH Forever (Youngsters Organised for Uprise of Theatre Health) as part of their Kala Krushi initiative
This Theatre internship is valid for all theatre enthusiasts in the age group of 18 to 25. We shall be providing world class on the job experiential learning to the lucky five young interns. We are going to do an elaborate and extensive search for the right candidates. The whole process would take around six months and we are covering critical aspects of theatre namely, Direction, Stage Craft, Light & Sound, Writing and Production Management. The internship will end with a production entirely conceptualised and executed by the interns. We are working towards raising money and pay stipend to these participants.
Objective:
1. To enrich our culture through theatre, the prominent flag bearer of the cultural status of our society.
2. Theatre signifies our culture and is one of the oldest mediums known to civilised human. A healthy theatre atmosphere enables culture to thrive in the society.
3. It is unfortunate that apart from acting the influx of youth in theatre has been minimal. We intend to break the cycle and bring forward trained youngsters into the realm of Direction, Stage Craft, Light & Sound, Writing and Production Management.
4. The preservation and future of language and culture is in hands of our youngsters. What better time to catch them in the impressionable age of 18 to 25 years.
5. Their impressionable minds are ready to receive enormous amounts of literary content and can take it forward as their parallel interest to studies.
6. The programme is uniquely designed on the parameters of experiential learning and branching away from the conservative teacher student knowledge transfer model.

Why should you support YOUTH Forever?
This is one of a kind programme by Prakasam to nurture and create young & dedicated individuals for the cause of theatre. The primary objective of Prakasam is to do so and to sustain that it has created a new performance space called KH Kala Soudha where youngsters are welcome to perform without too many creative restrictions. To assist students who form the biggest target for the search we are going to design this in a way that it wont clash with their studies or college or even exams.
This programme will not only encourage youngsters to harness their talents but also create a platform to showcase and continue their theatrical endeavours. They will get to work hand in hand with legends from Theatre ranging from Sihi Kahi Chandru and Mangala Nagarajarao till PD Sathish Chandra.
This program will also take help of media partners to promote it to the widest possible audiences. It will be a multilingual program in Kannada and English extended to the entire state. We will also be paying a stipend to
The Program Execution
Selection:
1. We are going to advertise and invite applications for internship through media partners and established communication channels.
2. The applicants should write an essay of less than 1000 words introducing themselves and justifying their consideration for the internship, through in person or e mail or snail mail.
3. There would be a selection panel comprising of subject matter experts from the above mentioned five key areas of theatre to finalise the final 25.
4. The select participants will then go through a debrief session and face to face interviews to finalise the chosen five.
Programme Schedule:
1. Their learning starts with on the job experience by being part of a Praksam production where they will learn how, what, where, when, why and who of drama.
2. They would get to spend time with five subject matter experts in their selected field of interest as part of the program.
3. Their final stage of the internship is planning and execution of a production aided by seasoned members of team Prakasam. The play would be staged in our state of the art auditorium KH Kala Soudha.
