About the play
The production states the different dimensions of relationship between a woman and man at different stages. The ashram system which states there are four basic stages of any life before for performing your Karma before you attain Moksha, namely Youvvana (Youth), Grihasta (Household), Vanaprashta (Retired) and Sanyasa (Renounced).  We represent each of the ashram with a couple on stage to recite the select poems in the play. We go through these stages every single minute of our lives.  We have tried to capture the same instantaneous essence in our play.

There have been umpteen numbers of attempts in putting this relationship between the sexes on stage via mediums well-known and unknown. Our play would address the same using well-knit poems and with dramatics to please the audiences. We would establish the relationship through poems addressing friendship, love, romance, death, future, lifestyle and other day today facets of lives.

Poets
Avala (Her) serious, sensible, trigger poems are by Chetana Thirthahalli a prolific writer, friend of Prakasam and currently employed as a journalist. Avana (His) comic, gabby, counter poems… mostly inspired from what Chetana wrote are by PD Sathish Chandra. He currently is the Director of Kala Soudha and runs a young performing arts team called Prakasam.

Director and Co-Author P D Sathish Chandra states “What started as a fun review of serious poems has taken this form. Its effect and simplicity will be the USP of the production. With no production expense and liquid form/design of the play makes it easier to stage at any given point of time & within no time. The basic objective is to narrate the known through an unknown, unconventional and unexplored medium. Similar to rehearsed readings or Oodu Kathe formats.”

Chetana Theerthahalli says “when I first read the counter poem from Sathish for a poem stating confidence in self pity, I was pleasantly suprised at the way he looked at the problem stated in the poem.  What you can’t say in pages of Prose can be said in few lines of Poetry, with the audio visual and enactment element of Theatre production, I am sure our production will enthuse the audience to empathise with the poems. For tough realities of life stated in my Trigger poems, Sathish’s realistic and practical Counter poems will surely give the audience a unique perspective to life.”
Team with the director and writers

Execution
There would be 4 pairs (avanu & avalu) on stage reading & enacting the poems. Poems will be couplets narrated by the couple in different sequences. The performance would be for 70 minutes with balanced sets of poems.  After each set our Music Director Apoorva Vishweshwar would compose music for the poems to settle in to the listening ears. With the audience feedback for the premier show we shall decide if we should do further shows of the play or modify it to suit wider audiences.  The cast on stage are Raji Achar, Rajashri, Chetana Thirthahalli, Deepa Girish, Chandan Shankar, Monish Nagaraj, Sharath Parvatavani and Raghavendra Gudi.

Katha Sangama "Bouquet of Stories"

Katha Sangama "Bouquet of Stories"  There has been a trend of short plays in the modern time of timelessness. We are so used to instant food, job, friendship, money we are also bombarded with requests for short plays. We now have successfully prepared the “Bouquet of Stories” exclusively for you. Marking the 100th birth anniversary of Kodagina Gowramma , the gallant feminist writer at her times (1912-1939) we are staging her short story too as part of this festival.  The play is in Kannada and the exquisite selection of the stories will make you want more. With eight Jnanapeth Awards and stalwarts to choose from we had to read more than 120 short stories written between early 1930’s to 2011 to arrive at this unique bouquet. We sincerely hope that you will have a blast watching this as we have creating this performance piece for you. We enclose a small brief below of the stories to give you a better idea of the performances. We have interwoven six stories, running around the ...
