ವಾವೆ | Vaave - Relationships Redefined VAAVE, a Kannada play by Prakasam. Premiered on Nov 29 & Dec 13, 2014 at 7.30pm in KH Kala Soudha.   Welcome... When a confession brings a man and a woman face to face with reality, it has repercussions far beyond what they could have imagined. As further confessions and events unfold, they threaten to tear a family apart. Skeletons tumble rapidly from cupboards and it becomes increasingly unclear as to who is the victim and who is the victimizer. The facade of sophistication is gradually unmasked and the people involved come face to face with themselves. All because of.....VAAVE.  Directors Note Director’s note: Vaave is not an oft employed Kannada word in explaining relationships between people. For example, about two people who are somewhat related to each other, but not by blood or directly via marriage, it is said – “ In Vaave, you are a brother/sister/uncle/aunt to me”. I interpret the word as “ Unclear relationships”....

Raayakote 1858 - Concept Note

The Story of Raayakote 1858, a play in planning by Prakasam. A play in Kannada about the incidents which shook Rayokote in 1858. The story of broken heart, betrayal, murder, conspiracy and mystery. Original Transcript The East India Company was spreading its tentacles in southern India weakening and winning over the small territories and kingdoms. British had employed many Indians into their army and they were called Sipoy or Siphahi’s. The Rayakotta fort was their priced possession and was still mapping and documenting the area after their victory. The story happens in 1855 when a British officer Sir Ronald McCoy was posted to survey and map the whole territory. There is a young and talented Indian Subeidar Rajavardhana, from his regiment with whom Mary falls in love. They marry in Indian tradition and it is not accepted by Ronald & plots to get him killed, since he doesn’t want to get hit hands dirty & make Mary upset of his actions. WTF (Whoosh Theatre Fast)

  WTF Festival Before you get ideas about WTF it stands for  Whoosh Theatre Fast , which implies that it is a festival of short plays. Date of the Festival: 18th to 22th April, 2012 Venue:  KH Kala Soudha We would request you to send in your entries via ~ Burn a CD & send to Kala Soudha ~ Upload it online and mail us the link ~ Take appointment and do a Live Screening (which we don't advice keeping sheer no of entries in mind) Will announce the last date ASAP & Entry Fees:- 200/- Parameter for our selection of your performance to festival would be Theme, Presentation, Work on Acting & Stage Craft.
