Santosh Karki, a software professional by profession working in IT industry for more than 13 years now, has now found a solace from the mundane life in the much aspired passion “THEATRE” which is now his sole “Passion”. Santosh hails from a family of poets, artists, teachers , in short art loving people. He is grandson of Dr D S Karki a well known poet who has penned the infamous “HACHCEVU KANNADA DEEPA” song. Art was always which he loved, because this is the only form of expression where you can win hearts and winning hearts by way of entertaining people is what he likes most. He, being from a family of art loving people especially poetry and theatre, was exposed to dance dramas and company dramas (hails from North Karnataka) in his childhood. He had interest in Mimicry, miming people, acting in dramas and skits in schools and colleges whenever there was a opportunity and this is how he discovered the liking and passion in plays and theatre.
Though he is in Bangalore for more than 13 years now, he got into mainstream theatre only last year through a workshop conducted by AIKYA (erstwhile., Vishrutha School of Performing Arts) headed by Vidya Venkataraman , well known theatre, TV and Motion picture actress. The workshop was conducted by theatre veterans like Srinivas Prabhu, Raghu Sirsi, Suman Jadugar, Shrunga and P D Satish Chandra.
He starting his acting career with the play “Kivudu Saar Kivudu” under AIKYA troupe directed by Raghu Sirsi and from then the passion got deeper and road ahead was to Pra.Ka.Sam who identified him for his most favourite role of Nariyanna in GULLE NARI play directed by P D Satish Chandra which has completed successful 3 shows.
Then on he acted in several plays with Pra.Ka.Sam and AIKYA troupe. He also acted in theatre veteran M C Anand directed “play of Anton Chekov Short stories” as Venkatappa in "Venkatappana Kanoonu"
Apart from theatre , He is also having a liking in painting, sketching and has a profound liking in poetry as well.
He has also scripted and directed few short films and video spoof on few film songs with his friends and family before coming into theatre.
