USPs:
Unlike the regular workshops, which most of the time concentrates on acting or one aspect of the production or a play, we concentrate on nourishing our participants to become an all round theatre person. The participant will be exposed to the regimes of a trained theatre artist and will be stage trained to handle productions of any level. Since an actor on stage needs to use his body more than his face successful body and mind coordination will be focused on in our workshop.
The potential of theatre as a tool of successful communication and its potency to reach all sections of the society would be communicated to all participants. They would be encouraged to use this powerful tool to fulfill the social responsibilities of a duty bound citizen.
We use innovative theatre tools to communicate the content of the workshop. The leisurely structure of the workshop is not heavy on any participant and uses games, improvisations etc. to communicate complex theatre practices such as Body Movement, Self Confidence, Thought, Concentration, Voice Modulation, Observation, Imagination, Language and Speech skills. This successfully eliminates all phobias related to public speaking and presentations. Removing physical and mental blocks to make the participant to an actor is our major aim. By the end of this workshop the topophobians will become true thespians.

About Prakasam:
Prakasam or Pradarshana Kalaa Samsthe is a NGO created with the sole intention of promoting, nurturing and creating new works of performing arts. Pradarshana Kalaa Samsthe literally means an organisation dedicated to all performing arts. This non profit organisation has been striving hard to achieve its primary goal of promoting and nurturing young talent & providing a sustainable platform for performing arts, has been active in media and related performing arts field since 2001.

Is this workshop entirely online?
Yes from our end. Unless for the final performance the team decides to meet safely to record the show.
Why am I paying? Aren't we selling tickets?
The 1000 INR you pay is for us to facilitate the workshop and also arrange the technical details required for the final performance showcase. Also from our past experiences, we believe when there is an investment from your end the participation quality increases.
Are there separate charges for Celeb sessions?
NO. This workshop is to encourage performing arts and make you guys part of the appreciative crowd for performing arts. The celebs & resource people who come to the workshop are the main reason why you should do this workshop.
How does the workshop work?
- We will call for entries
- 10 people for a 20 minute drama on line will be chosen
- Classes will be held on zoom or any convenient alternative platform
- Starts with the acclimatization to theatre, sessions on story, script, backstage, blocking, lighting, voice, body, space, music & acting
- Special sessions by masters of the craft
- Get to story mode and get an inclusive script written
- Rehearsals on for the same script & blocking
- Show to be decided on the convenience of the participants
- Rehearsals, Reading & Show to be aimed at getting online & on a pay per view platform or for free on our channels
- Will see if show can be a live feed or a pre recorded performance or a zoom call recording, as per the group's decision
Is it an interactive session? What is the duration of a session? Is computer/ laptop mandatory?
Yes completely interactive session, we believe in experiential learning. Each session should be of a minimum of 90 minutes & we need at least 20 sessions before we can start planning for a show. We are comfortable with Zoom which works with 12 to 15 people with video & has no streaming lags. If you guys know of a better working thing we have no problems moving there. Zoom works equally well on smart phones and laptops.
