Prakasam Cultural Walks

Bengaluru, Beyond the Guidebooks with Prakasam

Every street in Bengaluru has a story. Some are carved in stone, some echo through temple courtyards, some linger in old theatres, and others are served on a plate with a hot cup of filter coffee.

Prakasam's Cultural Walks invite you to experience Bengaluru through its living heritage—its performing arts, music, literature, architecture, food, and the people who have shaped the city's vibrant cultural identity over generations.

Why walk with Prakasam

  • A short live performance at each stop (3–5 minutes).
  • Tickets to a performance at the end of the walk chosen
  • Readings from Kannada playwrights.
  • Folk songs connected to the neighbourhood.
  • Theatre games that invite audience participation.
  • Stories about artists who rehearsed, debated or built institutions in these spaces.
  • Food tastings that connect culinary traditions to the city's cultural life.

These are not conventional heritage walks. They are highly customisable and hence its user friendly. If you are a group of 2 or 20 we will curate it to match your group.

Each experience is carefully curated to reveal the hidden narratives behind familiar landmarks. Along the way, you'll discover forgotten anecdotes, artistic traditions, local legends, iconic eateries, and the cultural movements that transformed Bengaluru into one of India's most dynamic creative cities. Depending on the walk, you may also encounter live performances, storytelling, readings, or interactive demonstrations that bring history to life.

Whether you are a visitor discovering Bengaluru for the first time, a long-time resident looking at your city with fresh eyes, a student of history, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys meaningful travel, our walks offer a unique way to connect with the city.

We have researched and curated walks in the following categories based on the areas the culture centres are

  1. Kalakshetra Corners
  2. Basavanagudi Blues
  3. Malleshwaram Melodies
  4. Majestic Dreams
  5. Jolly Good JPN
  6. CBD Canvas

Every walk is thoughtfully designed to offer a meaningful blend of history, culture, food, and storytelling. While each itinerary follows a unique theme, they all share one purpose—to help you experience Bengaluru not merely as a city, but as a living cultural landscape.

Cost varies with number of pax and the walk chosen. Get in touch with us on prakasamtrust@gmail.com for details or fill in a small form here - https://www.prakasamtrust.org/contact.php
