Elli Jaritho Manavu

Mango house presents a successful  Kannada play 'Elli Jaritho Manavu'  on September 15 (Sunday) @ 7pm, K.H.Kalasoudha.

Cast: Nandita Yadav, Mico Manju, Nagesh Yadav, Vidya Venkatram, Poornachandra Tejaswi.

Synopsis:

A title lifted off from a popular song "Elli Jaritho manvu" of our great poet Lakshminarayan Bhat- is a story about a 'relationship'- outside marriage in a modern society, so what's new? Nothing on the face of it. But retold very differently both as a visual and a narrative.

This story unlike other stories is unique because it begins or unfolds the end of a relationship.

The protagonists of the story are Anagha and Ravi, both are married. Ravi is a freelance journalist married to Keerthi (A love marriage) Anagha is a sub editor of a magazine, married to a builder called Girish. Now Ravi & Anagha had fallen in love with eachother two years ago despite their respective marriages. Ravi feels that Anagha is sensuous, sensitive, intelligent & mature woman and Anagha thinks that Ravi is intense, passionate, romantic, etc., they both had found each other whatever they were seeking from a partner- so a saga of a happy romantic live- but now....!!! Suddenly- Anagha first wakes up from the dream and realizes the strain of living an illicit relationship. As a woman she is more reasonable & practical and hence says "stop"!-- 'i cant' take it any further....

The whole story is a serious tension depicted in a light humorous way portraying the irony of life.

Tickets priced at Rs.100 are available in advance.

We are so used to instant food, job, friendship, money we are also bombarded with requests for short plays. We now have successfully prepared the “Bouquet of Stories” exclusively for you. Marking the 100th birth anniversary of Kodagina Gowramma , the gallant feminist writer at her times (1912-1939) we are staging her short story too as part of this festival.  The play is in Kannada and the exquisite selection of the stories will make you want more. With eight Jnanapeth Awards and stalwarts to choose from we had to read more than 120 short stories written between early 1930’s to 2011 to arrive at this unique bouquet. We sincerely hope that you will have a blast watching this as we have creating this performance piece for you. We enclose a small brief below of the stories to give you a better idea of the performances. We have interwoven six stories, running around the ...
