Synopsis: Chorus is one of the oldest technique used in world theatre from the time of Greek civilization to modern plays, Indian traditional arts are not different. Chorus work has always been a very important part of any ensemble of performing artists. It has been used as a relief, bridge between scenes, like the audience, enhances the mood and so on and so forth. Even in mainstream cinema, chorus always enjoyed a stereotype representation behind the dancing man and lady. While mostly chorus started as everyone mirroring each other without any agency but then has moved on from there to allowing agency to each performer in the chorus to either achieve a common goal or even different goals to

arrive at some climax.

In this short piece, we try to experiment with the idea of chorus to build an observation on how

societies are formed, evolve and move forward.

Synopsis: ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ನಾಗರಿಕತೆಯ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಆಧುನಿಕ ನಾಟಕಗಳವರೆಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹಳೆಯ ತಂತ್ರವೆಂದರೆ ಕೋರಸ್, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಕಲೆಗಳು ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಮೂಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋರಸ್ ಕೆಲಸವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ರಿಲೀಫ್ ಆಗಿ, ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸೇತುವೆಯಾಗಿ,

ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಂತೆ, ಮೂಡ್ ವರ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಯಾಗಿ ಪಯೋಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಹಿನಿಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ, ಕೋರಸ್ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೃತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಪುರುಷ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳೆಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಟೀರಿಯೊಟೈಪ್ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಯಾವುದೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಕೋರಸ್, ನಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋರಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಕನಿಗೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಅಥವಾ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಗುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಒಂದೆ ಕೊನೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಲು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಈ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮಾಜಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ರಚನೆಯಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ವಿಕಸನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೋರಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ತೋರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

ಇದೊಂದು ಡಿವೈಸ್ಡ್ ನಾಟಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ನಟ/ಟಿಯರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪಠ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಪಠ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ರಚನೆಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
